A Beginning Rooted in Curiosity

I still remember the first time I saw a patient smile after regaining their hair. It wasn’t just about how they looked — it was about how they felt. That moment changed something in me.

I am Dr. Radha Rani, proud to be regarded as India’s first qualified hair transplant surgeon, certified by the American Board Of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) and International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). Over the years I have performed over 5000+ hair transplants and this is my story.

My journey began in Andhra Pradesh, where as a young doctor I fell in love with the science of skin and hair. In 2005, After completing my postgraduate PG in Dermatology from Andhra Medical college, my passion towards skin took me to Singapore where I pursued an Advanced Dermatology Fellowship at the National Skin Centre. It was there that I discovered my true passion: hair restoration.

Training Under Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich

In 2008, I was honoured to train under the visionary Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich — one of the best hair transplant surgeons in the world and recognised as the father of Asian hair transplant surgery & inventor of the open donor technique. His emphasis on artistry, precision and ethics would become the foundation of my own practice. 

New Frontiers in India

By 2009, There were no dedicated hair transplant clinics in India, Yet the requirement was huge. People who could afford it had to travel overseas to get a hair transplant and many patients were vulnerable to sub‑standard treatment and misleading promises. I decided to change that for us. I wanted to open an international standard hair transplant clinic in India. Instead of setting up in Mumbai or Bangalore, I chose Vizag — so that excellence could be accessible. That’s how the International Institute of Hair Transplant (IIHT) was born.

Since then I have individually performed over 5000+ Hair Transplants with the help of trainer staff. Over the years, we have had the privilege of not just treating people across India but also from different parts of the world like Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada.

What Drives Me Every Day

For me, hair restoration has never been just about aesthetics. It’s about identity, confidence and restoring something people thought was lost forever. Each patient is more than a case‑file — they are an individual with unique needs, culture, hair type and story.

At IIHT, we specialise in FUE, FUT, combination surgeries and complex corrective work — but at its heart, our work is human.

I remain closely involved in every case, designing hairlines, supervising graft placement and ensuring every patient’s journey is one of trust, honesty and measurable results.
